Problem:


The state of physics today is often compared to that at the turn of the century. That is, we seem to have figured out an awful lot about the world around us, things fit the models pretty well, and many scientists spend their days making more and more precise measurements without finding deviations from theory.


What are some outstanding problems in physics today which may lead to breakthroughs and whole new worlds of stuff? One lofty goal, of course, is to unify the remaining forces, but where should we be looking?
